We´re going to apply the 3rth bimonthly Exam of the computer class from Monday 22 to Tuestday 25.

5º ELEMENTARY: STORAGE DEVICES

We´ll see the different storage devices. As you remember we meet two technologies:

Optic technology: 
Uses a light ray to read data from discs (used in cd-roms, dvd-roms, dvd players, videogames, etc)


Drive lens

Magnetic Technology:
Uses magnetic fields (used in hard disk)

Hard Disk Header

A Computer Burning Test

What happens when we remove the processor´s heatsink?

As you remember the heatsink helps to cool down the processor/cpu temperature.

A normal processor´s temperature is between the 35ºC to 50ºC, as you can see if you remove the heatsink, the processor can even burn and reach a temperature near 360ºC... with that temperature you could easily cook an egg.

As you can see, the more heat the processor is getting,  the Quake game slowers even more as the next video shows:

So, if you want to have a good performance in your computer you have to keep a good ventilation system.

Elementary 6 discovering the internal components

Hello!

In the first bimester the guys from the groups of Elementary 6° disarmed and rearmed a PC in order to know physically the internal components and see how they are interconnected. Such components as HARD DISK DRIVE, DATA CABLES, POWER SUPPLY, MICROPROCESSOR, MEMORY RAM, MOTHER BOARD, HEAT SINKS.
